Sticking the pictures of the flag raising ceremony, I could still hear the inspiring national anthem echoing in my mind.
Last Monday, the teacher suggested that our class shold organize an activity whosetheme was “National Flag in my heart” and made a blackboard drawing at the endof the week. Being willing to know more about our national flag, the classthought that it was a great chance to develop our patriotism.
How did the national flag mean to us? It was a question that everyone had in theirheart. We decided to find the answer by browsing through the websites on theInternet and reading precious materials in the National Library. After a fewdays’ preparatory work, we gradually came up with a plan to visit Tian’anmen Square to watch the flag raising ceremony by ourselves.
It was a clear cold morning and all of us were excited waiting besides the flagpole anxiously. As the soldiers walked out orderly with the national flag in theirhands, we knew that the extraordinary moment would come. Standing and singingthe national anthem seriously and loudly, I could empathize with the pioneersand heroes who devoted themselves to the foundation of the People’s Republic of China. The sense of pride burst out from my heart and I was proud to be a Chinese citizen.
We did some reflection works as soon as we got back to the school. Not only did we print the photos out, but we also introduce the origin and development of the national flag to the whole class through the blackboard painting.
This activity is absolutely one of the best memories in my life.
