Culture plays an important role in the local development. However, not everybody knows enough about their local culture. As is shown in the chart, 3% of people even know nothing about it.
There are several reasons contributing to this phenomenon. One is that some people think it unnecessary to learn about their local culture and others say they are not interested in it.
In my opinion, it’s important to learn about our local culture. First, it’s one of the best ways to learn about the local history. As is known to all, different cultures represent different periods of development. By learning about the changes of cultures at different times, we can not only enrich our knowledge but also better promote the local economic development. More importantly, understanding our local culture helps increase our love for our hometown. Therefore, not only the government but also each of us should make efforts to make our hometown culture known by more people.
